Congressman James P. Moran, Jr. (D-VA) was not amused.
"In the soldier's hand was a thumbnail biography, distributed before each of the congressmen's meetings in Baghdad, which let meeting participants such as that soldier know where each of the lawmakers stands on the war. "Moran on Iraq policy," read one section, going on to cite some the congressman's most incendiary statements, such as, "This has been the worst foreign policy fiasco in American history."
So Democratic Senators and Members of Congress visiting members of the Armed Forces...soldiers they are responsible for...have propaganda leaflets sent out to the soldiers written by the Republican Party.
Speaking out against this war and this Administration is a sign of intelligence and leadership. Having the government pay for and create these leaflets must have repercussions. Hopefully in the voting booth in 2008 when the Republican Party is wiped out of politics in this country.
Quoting statements made by our Congress Members against this war is not an insult. The soldiers are probably glad to hear it.
If the Democratic Party decided to created and distribute propaganda leaflets against visiting Republican Senators and members of Congress they would probably read something like this:
-Republican Senator 'So-and-So' sucks cock in public restrooms.
-Republican Congressman 'So and So' fucks teenage boys up the ass.
-Republican Congressman 'So and So' leaves dead female aides slumped on the floor of his office.
-Bush, Jr. had better things to do than fight in Vietnam. He had cocaine to snort you poor losers.
-Dick Cheney never fired a shot in anger, except at quail, and he sucked at that too.
-Hope you're not from New Orleans soldier.
So the visiting Democratic members of Congress shouldn't sweat the leaflets. The soldiers know who is right. The Iraqis know who is right. The American people know who is right.
