What the hell?

After watching the sad, frightening, stupid and down right insane Republican candidates on the CNN/YouTube debate, I wonder why aren't there better choices than a loser Senator, A newbie Senator, Hillary Clinton and some also rans?

Where are the big Democratic guns? The 2008 Presidential election is a cake-walk. The Republican candidates are so far removed from the reality of American life that it is ridiculous to even give them any more air-time, let alone credence as candidates for Presidency of the United States. These guys are nuts!

Hell, give me Governor Ed Rendell from Pennsylvania.

What the hell is Harris Wofford doing these days?

Pat Schroeder anyone?

Or just give me Al Gore for Christ's sake.

I'm Impressed. RFK,JR. Endorses Senator Clinton

Senator Clinton (D-NY) received the endorsement of the son of a former Democratic Senator from New York, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

"At different points during the presidential race, both Sen. Barack Obama and former Sen. John Edwards have alternately drawn comparisons to Robert F. Kennedy.

Kennedy's relative youth and optimism, as well his crusade against poverty and opposition to the war in Vietnam, all made for fitting comparisons to those two Democrats.

But one of Kennedy's sons, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., is today endorsing Sen. Hillary Clinton — who happens to hold the same elected office once occupied by his father.

"I watched proudly as Hillary won over New Yorkers across the state in her race for the Senate seat my father once held," Kennedy said in a statement. "Since then, she's been reelected in a landslide victory and proven that she is ready to lead this nation from her first day in office. Hillary will inspire the real change America needs."

Now we have all been reading a lot about the failed candidacy of Hillary Clinton, but I wouldn't count the lady out just yet. The alternatives right now that the Democrats are offering, will get their asses kicked in November 2008 by the Republicans.

The Kennedy Brothers' children know a lot about the vast right wing conspiracy. They probably understood what Hillary Clinton was talking about.

Hillary learned her politics from living through a time when President John Kennedy and Senator Robert Kennedy helped lead the nation. No candidate on the Republican side cares to remember. In fact, they'd rather we all forget.

Republican Senator Trent Lott May Not Be Gay, But He May Have To Apologize For All Those Bad Things He Said About Whitewater and the Clintons

"Prominent Mississippi trial attorney Richard "Dickie" Scruggs, the brother-in-law of outgoing GOP Sen. Trent Lott, was indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday on charges that he and four other men tried to bribe a Mississippi state court judge.

According to the 13-page indictment, Scruggs and three other attorneys -- including Lott's nephew Zach -- attempted to bribe Mississippi Third Circuit Court Judge Henry L. Lackey with at least $40,000 in cash.

Lackey was assigned to hear a lawsuit in which Scruggs' firm was named as a defendant in a dispute involving $26.5 million in attorneys' fees stemming from a court settlement with State Farm Insurance over Hurricane Katrina claims.

The indictment alleges that the bribe was intended to resolve the case in Scruggs' and his firm's favor."

Arianna Huffington seems to be watching the former Republican Speaker of the House's back. Huffington, an expert on closeted gay husbands, is at least showing both sides of the story. No rush to judgment on this one, which is more than she ever did for President Clinton.

This Is Just Too Painful To Watch...Gore In The White House With Bush, Jr.

"President George W. Bush on Monday welcomed defeated Democratic presidential rival Al Gore to the White House for the first time since 2001, celebrating Gore's Nobel Peace Prize and discussing global warming.

Gore, who lost the bitterly contested 2000 U.S. presidential election and has clashed with Bush over environmental policy, had a private meeting with Bush in addition to the traditional photo with the American 2007 Nobel award winners.

"It was very nice, very cordial, he was very gracious in setting up the meeting and it was a very good and substantive conversation," Gore told reporters after a 40-minute talk with Bush in the Oval Office.

Bush has rejected the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, which was a treaty Gore helped negotiate to set limits on industrial nations' greenhouse gas emissions. Bush, who has said mandatory caps would hurt the U.S. economy, favors voluntary targets.

Despite the warm White House visit, there was no sign of detente between Bush and Gore over climate change policy.

"It was a private conversation," Gore said repeatedly to a throng of reporters, avoiding giving details. "Of course we talked about global warming, of course, the whole time."

Bush, Jr. Doesn't Understand Why Brain Damage Would Be Considered An Injury

"At least 20,000 U.S. troops who were not classified as wounded during combat in Iraq and Afghanistan have been found with signs of brain injuries, according to military and veterans records compiled by USA TODAY.

The data, provided by the Army, Navy and Department of Veterans Affairs, show that about five times as many troops sustained brain trauma as the 4,471 officially listed by the Pentagon through Sept. 30. These cases also are not reflected in the Pentagon's official tally of wounded, which stands at 30,327.

The number of brain-injury cases were tabulated from records kept by the VA and four military bases that house units that have served multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan."
