Jesus Was A Kennedy Democrat

I went through the Catholic School system in the late 1960s and the 1970s. Pictures of Jack and Bobby Kennedy hung in the class rooms. Some of the nuns and priest that taught me had worked with Bobby Kennedy in New York City and Cesar Chavez in California.

Now look at them. the Democratic Party is their enemy. The Republican Party is what they have adopted.

Satan wins.

If it all comes down to a woman''s right to an abortion in America for the Catholic Church, then the 21st century will see an end to that religious sect. They are as useless to god and man/womanlkind as Islamic fundamentalism.

Two Contrasting Videos: Senator Ted Kennedy & President Dick Nixon

The Kennedy Brothers and Richard Nixon... like oil and water running through the American Heartland.

Here are two videos at two amazingly complex and trying times for America.

First, during the short time in 1968 between April and June, between the assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Senator Robert Kennedy (D-NY), while cities are burning, Senator Edward Kennedy takes the podium to speak... President John Kennedy had been assassinated less than 5 years earlier. RFK was about to be assassinated in Los Angeles in less than two months...

Second is the strange live news video feed from the five minutes before Richard Nixon was to go on national television and resign the Presidency in disgrace. He is trying desperately to hold it together and not meltdown.

Acting students should be made to watch this video.

What a fascinating life Edward Kennedy had. The things he lived through; the triumphs and disasters. He outlived his brothers and sisters and John Kennedy Jr. He participated in the highest political victories and was victimized by the lowest political crimes.

Some shrug and say that is American politics, but a darker description is required. The forces in America that took JFK and RFK away from us and that have stood on the opposing side of the Senate facing Ted Kennedy all these years is a malignant Republican Party full of creatures with the intelligence and survival instincts of wolverines.

President Nixon’s voice on those White House Tapes discussing Ted Kennedy explains a lot about the death of the Democratic Party. Our nation staggered down the street, wounded after JFK’s assassination, but we didn’t really die until the election of 2000. That was the end of us. President Obama is the music being played as the audience leaves the theater. Ted Kennedy brought down the curtain. Rahm Emanuel is waiting at the restaurant to read the reviews.

The Lack Of Respect Is Astonishing

Never in my life... and I have lived through a President being assassinated, a President not bothering to run again, a President resigning in disgrace, a President as puppet, a President undergoing Congressional impeachment, a President stealing the office... but I never saw a President have his life threatened on a daily basis from Republican politicians, the media, as well as, the crazy element.

It is astonishing... and nothing is being done about it.

Edward M. Kennedy American Health Security Act -- Keep The Dream Alive.

What a long strange trip it’s been. Senator Edward M. Kennedy has died.

The Kennedy Brothers have been part of the political history of my life. Before I was born we had John and Robert Kennedy setting the stage for the Kennedy Family story to unravel over the second half of  20th century American politics.

JFK as President. RFK as Attorney General and then Senator from New York. Edward as the Senator from Massachusetts.

Edward Kennedy was the only one of the three who survived the sixties, a decade they all helped define. John and Robert were assassinated, but ‘Teddy’ went on.

He went on into the 1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s and into the 21st century, fighting for an American Dream that been stained with the blood of his own Family. Fighting for the American family.

He had his own demons to fight and did. He was at time beleaguered and deservedly so. But he carried the flag of ‘Camelot’ not only for his Family, but for all Americans. That is why he is loved. That is why the Kennedy Family is so fondly remembered. That is why they are also so constantly attacked. Because if they were right and on the side of good. Then those that opposed them and their work,  must be bad and on the side of evil.

And history has surely proven that.

But that never stopped Ted Kennedy fighting for you and for me. That I truly believe.

Dick Cheney Is A Very, Very, Very Bad Man

... and probably a traitor, and a sociopath, but you won't see that story covered on TV or read it in the papers or on internet news sites... only on progressive blogs... because we're not really serious.

"It's hardly news that Dick Cheney is a liar. But yesterday offered yet another exhibit in the case.

During the debate over torture this spring, Cheney claimed that CIA memos, which he had asked to be declassified, would prove that torture proved effective in obtaining actionable intelligence.

Well, yesterday, those memos were released, along with the CIA inspector general's report. And, surprise surprise, they don't begin to show what Cheney said they did...."
